life is good

my 4th rotation is almost through-- i can't even believe it--just 4 more days in reading and than off the surgery to get beat up and run through the wringer for 8 weeks of long hours, call, and lots and lots of pimping. can't wait :)

anywho. just through happenstance this past friday night all the stars aligned and deb, lauren, josh, keith and i were able to make it out to dinner and venture into dubC :) we ate at this thai restaurant called Jazmine which was just outside of the 'cool' part of town but was actually really neat and the food was excellent...for the most part. deb and i ended up ordering the exact same thing--i can never turn down pad thai (thank you kelly for introducing me to it years ago in charleston) that i'd want just a leettllleee bit spicy. that's all. those were in fact my exact words to out waiter. what came out however was so HOTT you couldn't even taste the flavor of the food. you had about a half a second to enjoy it before your mouth, face, nose and anything in the vicinity of the pad thai were literally melting off of your face. i'm not exagerating, it was hot. thank god i didn't accidentally rub my eyes. a little while after we get our food our waiter finally comes over to check on us and at this point i believe that i was sweating so much and my eyes were watering so badly even though both debbie and i had clearly given up on our dinners that he quickly offered to get us a new one. it was much better :)

saturday keith and i went down to chris' beach house on Long Beach Island and spent most of the rest of the weekend 6 steps from the ocean...go figure the ONE time we walk down into the water a giant wave comes up and soaks all of our stuff--thank you hurricane igor. however, the waves were awesome and it was totally worth it. more on that and pictures tomorrow.

i am so incredibly blessed to have friends in my life who i can not see for months, nothing more than the occasional text/phone call, and pick right back up where we left off. i honestly don't know what i'd do without them and am so lucky to have them.

p.s. ALL of the wallpaper is officially DOWN in my old room, many thanks to dad, keith and the wallpaper steamer i purchased at home depot--more to come on this little project later
